Vision Bots: Robotic Competition
Purpose of the competition:
Encourage Qatar University students to develop innovative solutions, work in multidisciplinary teams, and have fun in the process. Moreover, students will have a great opportunity and experience, with Boeing as a sponsor for this competition.
Objectives:
- Identify and learn about the robotic vision mechanisms.
- Using robotic vision concepts for the problem solving tasks.
- Encourage students to work in multidisciplinary groups and solve a given problem.
- Think about the solutions to the given problem in an innovative and comprehensive way.
- Attend educational workshops on the topic of the contest to widen their horizon and link their education with extracurricular contests and workshops.
Competition Guidelines:
- Student will have to attend two seminars before the competitions, organized by Dr. Uvais Ahmed Qidwai, Dr. Nader Moslem Meskin, and Dr. John-John Cabibihan.
- Students will have to assemble a team with a maximum of 3 students.
- The contest will be evaluated based on successfully accomplishing the three levels:
- First Level: Following a line, the robot have to move in a straight line by specifying the start point to the end point.
- Second Level: Object avoidance, the robot will have to avoid some obstacles in the specified line.
- Third Level: Tracing and object avoidance, target can move remotely. Target can be moving, track after 30 seconds.
- Any QU College of Engineering student can participate.
