The Department of Biology was commenced in Spring 1999 by the integration of Zoology and Botany Departments. Thereafter, a new Program has been recently established, Environmental Science Program, with biotechnology and marine as minors. The recent trends in research activities in the Department focus on: plant science, molecular biology, DNA technology, bio-products, biotechnology, marine science and environmental-based research.
