Mission

To cultivate excellence in research at Qatar University (QU) by promoting ethical, innovative, impactful, and collaborative research practices among its members supported by high standards of strategic planning, development, policies, and operations.

1. Strategically invests in promising and impactful research and researchers driven by high caliber research strategic planning initiatives, their development, and implementation.
2. Develops strong relationships with various sponsors and serves as the liaison office of the university in building and coordinating the relationship between industry, government, community, and Qatar University.
3. Responsible for developing and promoting operating procedures, resources, and tracking compliance with the ethical requirements and maintenance of quality and integrity of the research and operations conducted at QU.
4. It deals with innovation, intellectual property, commercialization, and entrepreneurship issues and drives the active participation of academics and researchers in the current transformation initiatives of QU to become a leading research-based university. 
5. It supports institutional decision-making, planning, and policy development in the area of research by collecting, integrating, and analyzing institutional and external data.
6. Acts as the main hub in VPRGs for QU research and research-related databases.
7. Leads and supports university-wide research planning processes, including strategic, academic, operational, and resource planning. It drives the collection of stakeholders' feedback to support institutional quality assurance and development in teaching and learning.
