Dr. Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Qatar University in 1989 and then his Master’s and Doctorate’s degrees in Structural Engineering from Oklahoma State Universitie and Arizona State University, USA, respectively. Prof. Nasser graduated in the field of higher education since 1989, where he started as a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering - Qatar University and then worked as an assistant teacher at the University of Arizona and then an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering - Qatar University in October 2004 and in 2006 he was appointed head of the same department until the end of 2010. Then In mid-2016 he was appointed Director of the University's Center for Advanced Materials.
Dr. Nasser’s scientific areas of interest revolve around research for the rehabilitation and evaluation of cracked and damaged buildings due to earthquakes or explosions and fires, as well as strengthening and increasing the tolerance of concrete structures by adding glass and carbon panels to them, as well as studying the resistance and damage of concrete in harsh and hot environments. After joining the Center for Advanced Materials, Dr. Nasser advocated studying many materials research and recycling to take advantage of industrial waste to sustain the environment and preserve local wealth. He also has a great interest in purifying and desalinating sea water and ensuring the quality of drinking water. He founded with the support of the University of Qatar and the University's Water Technology Unit in 2019. He works to develop the center and increase applied research and involve the local industry in various research.
