    QU Gateway (Primary)



    Description
    The “Gateway to Qatar University (QU- Gateway)” program is an initiation by Qatar University, that aims to achieve Qatar’s National Vision 2030. It facilitates the national youth to enrich their research capacity by "Hands-On experience”. This program is to promote the interests of national youths towards the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, mathematics) streams. Therefore, the program is a bridge connecting the school and Qatar University by offering unique opportunities for the students to engage in STEM-oriented workshops and researches. Eventually aiding in the convenient transition from education to the employment sector. The school students of middle and high school are motivated and guided to be curious about the STEM activities that are taking place in the university. The undergraduate students of STEM colleges at QU are also benefited. Wherein, they participate as mentors to these high school students (mentees). This will ensure an excellent opportunity for the national school students and Qatar University’s undergraduate students to work collectively under the mentorship of highly qualified faculty members and researchers of Qatar University and the STEM professionals of the QUYSC (Qatar University Young Scientist Centre).
    Objectives
    • Motivate students to be curious about STEM
    • Motivate the students to participate in national/international science workshops, fairs, STEM competitions to develop an inclination towards STEM
    • Familiarize the Qatari students with STEM disciplines at Qatar university
    • Bridge the gap between the school and the university, by allowing easier transition from schools to universities.
