Course Equivalency of Transferred Students from Community College of Qatar (CCQ):
The Admission Section enrolls the student as a CCQ transfer, and then, the Registration Support Section processes the course equivalence, provided that these courses must be included in the agreement of grade (C) and above. The courses are counted as transferred credit (TC) only, on condition that transferred credit hours shall not exceed 50% of the required credit hours in the study plan. Successful completion of these courses shall not exceed a period of five years.
Courses Equivalency of Transfer Students from University of Doha for Science and technology (USDT)
The Admission Section admits students as transfer from University of Doha for Science and technology. The student must submit the course description through USDT; and the Registration Support Section processes the procedures of equivalency by sending the course description to Colleges for evaluation. The student’s grade must be (C) and above. The courses shall be counted as transfer credit hours only (TC). The student’s transferred credit hours shall not exceed 50% of the number of the credit hours required in the study plan. Successful completion of these courses shall not exceed a period of five years.
Equivalency of fresh and transfer students’ courses from external accredited colleges/universities
Qatar University students may register to study courses in accredited colleges and universities. Courses that the student passed successfully can be transferred to Qatar University according to the following conditions:
- The student submits an application to the Enrollment Management Department along with all official documents and the study plan issued by the college or university in which he/she was enrolled.
- Contents of the transferred courses should be equal to at least 90% of the contents of the corresponding courses at Qatar University, and only those courses in which the student obtained a grade of (good) or higher will be transferred.
- The relevant academic department at Qatar University makes the final decision regarding the transfer of credit hours to the student’s program.
- Courses accepted for transfer are given the symbol (TC) for any transferred hours, but they do not have an effect on the student's cumulative a (GPA) at Qatar University.
- Transferred hours can be used to fulfill graduation requirements provided that they do not exceed 50% of the credit hours required for graduation from Qatar University.
- In the event that the student obtains a grade of “D+” or lower in this course and he/she repeats the course at another university, the course will be recorded for him as transferred hours (TC) and counted within the study plan, and the effect of the grade D+ or lower in the course he studied at Qatar University will be removed from the cumulative grade.
- If the student has successfully passed more than 50% of the courses (from other educational institutions) required to obtain a QU degree, he must decide which courses he wants to transfer to his record at Qatar University, and be part of his study plan at Qatar University.
Equivalency of Courses of Second Bachelor’s Degree:
- A student who has earned his/her first Bachelor’s degree from Qatar University, the Counselling Section contacts the student and requests him/her to sign an acknowledgement that he/she agrees to join the University as a freshman or to count and consider the courses the student has passed throughout the last 10 years.
- In the event that a student completes his/her first Bachelor degree in an external university, the descriptions of the official courses shall be submitted by the student and to be sent to colleges for evaluation according to the following conditions:
- The contents of the transferred courses should be equal to at least 90% of the contents of the corresponding courses at Qatar University, and only those courses in which the student obtained a grade of (good) or higher will be transferred.
- Courses accepted for transfer are given the symbol (TC) indicating that these are transferred hours, but they do not have an impact on the student's cumulative grade (GPA) at Qatar University.
- Transferred hours can be used to fulfill the graduation requirements, provided that they do not exceed 50% of the credit hours required for graduation from Qatar University.
- Courses must have been completed within the last five years since the semester in which the student was admitted to Qatar University.
Equivalency of Courses of National Service Students
After the National Service students are admitted at Qatar University, the Registration Support Section will process the equivalencies of courses of national service students with the grade (pass) and above. The courses are counted as (TC) only. The “F” grade will not be counted and its effect will be cancelled.
