Purpose
This policy seeks to maintain an environment for study and research that stimulates study and research in a calm atmosphere while also preserving the library’s contents including books, materials and facilities.
The designated librarian has full authority to intervene to stop a violation or report it in the event of any violation of the policies or rules mentioned below.
Terms and Conditions of Use
Qatar University ID card is mandatory to be able to access to the study rooms.
The Qatar University ID card of the reserving party will be activated at the users information services desk in order to have access.
Only one person is allowed to occupy the single study room, and at least 2 people for the group study rooms.
Faculty members and postgraduate students who have a valid university card are allowed to book the study room for a period of 4 hours per day, with the possibility of an extension of time if the room is not reserved for another user.
The user is entitled to repeat reservation of study rooms for a multiple of days during the month at the rate of 2 hours per day.
The user can book and use a study room instantly if there are vacancies or a reservation of a study room is canceled by another user.
Reservation will be canceled if the user is 15 minutes late from the start of the reservation period, and the room will be made available on the self-reservation system.
Study rooms are to be used for academic purposes only. For example: research, graduation projects, study, etc.
Quietness must be ensured inside the study rooms, and the relocation of furniture to and from the study rooms is not permitted.
Food is not permitted in the library halls and rooms, except for covered beverages.
Smoking is not permitted within study room.
Users must leave the study rooms before 15 minutes of the library closing time.
Violating Study Rooms Rules:
If the above mentioned rules are not complied with, the users will be asked to leave the study room, with the possibility of resulting in the loss of future service benefits while taking legal measures depending on the type of violation.
