Qatar University (QU) launched a new study-plan for the Honors Program which is under the Deanship of General Studies.
The new study-plan is designed in line with the Qatar University's strategic plan for excellence in education.
The new study-plan encompasses,

Guide to senior project
In this context, the Honors Program invites the distinguished QU faculty members to teach in the Honors Program, according to the following:
Teaching one of the modules (five lectures in five weeks) is equivalent to one credit hour. A paid according to the Qatar University regulations, the module instructor will be compensated for what is financially equivalent. Alternatively, the module might be counted within the teaching load if the faculty member's teaching load is not complete.
Supervising the Honors Program senior projects: a faculty member who supervises the Honors Program students in their senior project will be granted a financial reward for each student.
For the distinguished Faculty members meeting the below criteria and wishing to join are kindly requested to fill in The Honors Program Teaching Request Form:
Three years of university teaching experience
An outstanding record in teaching
An outstanding record in professional development in the field of teaching and eagerness to explore new ideas and innovative methods
An outstanding record of experience in the area of specialization
Evidence of professional experience, research/scholarship/creativity
Evidence of interest in integrative and interdisciplinary classroom activities
Desire and motivation to teach challenging students.
Faculty members must be fully aware of the Qatar University strategic plan dimension for excellence in education and have a clear understanding of academic excellence requirements and teaching philosophy.
A brief description of the new Honors Program study plan:
The new Honors Program study plan tends to prepare competent graduates for employment by providing talented, ambitious, and highly motivated students with an enriched interdisciplinary academic experience through a framework of learner-centric, experiential, research-informed, digitally enriched, and entrepreneurial education with a focus on the development of excellent lifelong learning habits. The honors teaching environment is excellent opportunity for talented and highly motived faculty member for innovation to implement a learner-centric approach.
The new study-plan encompasses the following courses and modules:
Introduction to Honors course (within students’ major study plan)
Eight modules, each module lasts for five weeks, 1 lecture per week (3 hours). The scheduling is flexible subject to the instructors and students’ availability. Students will be assessed based on project-based method.
Senior Project/Honors Thesis (within students’ major study plan)
A course content kit along with the syllabi are prepared for each module. The evaluation system is (Pass/Fail).
