Accommodation and Community Outreach Section Services
Exam Accommodation
Provide extra time for midterm and final exams (half an hour per hour) (an hour per hour).
Provide double the time for quizzes.
Provide separate and quiet room for exams.
Allow short breaks during exams in the same room.
Allow usage of a simple calculator in exams.
Allow a student employee scribe to read and / or write for the student in the exams.
Exemption from listening and speaking tests and use an alternative assessment tool.
Provide alternative assessment tools for tables or graphs.
Provide an enlarged copy of the exams.
Allow usage of Assistive Technology provided by ISNSC.
Provide an accessible examination room.
Allow use of cue sheet approved by the course instructor in exams.
Allow speaking tests to be presented privately in front of the course instructor only.
Provide a hard copy of online/ e-exams.
Class Accommodation
Provide copies of classmates and/or the course instructor’s notes.
Allow note-taker in classes and labs.
Allow use of Assistive Technology Devices to record class notes.
Provide extended time for submitting assignments and researches.
Provide written copy of oral instructions, notes, assignments, guidelines, and unfamiliar terminology.
Provide an oral description of class activities and pictures.
Provide the options to work in a group or individually.
Provide large font size of class materials.
Flexibility of class attendance (after committee’s decision –Student Affairs Sector).
Provide an accessible classroom to the student.
Allocate an appropriate seating place for the student in the classroom.
Allow use of adjustable tables provided by the ISNSC.
Provide class materials in advance, so that the ISNSC can convert them into an alternative format.
Exempt the student from presentations, class participation, and provide alternative assessment tools.
Allow student to deliver their presentation in front of the course instructor only.
Allow for short breaks during classes.
Consider color contrast for presentations and use appropriate font colors. (e,g. white background and black font).

The center works continuously with faculty members to provide academic accommodations to students.
The Center coordinates with the Student Learning Support Center to provide academic support to students.
Encourage students to participate in student clubs and University's activities
The Center coordinates with the Career Development Center to provide job opportunities for graduates with disability.
The center refers students with special needs to the Student Counseling Center to provide them with the appropriate support.
Continuous coordination with local community institutions to serve students with disabilities.

Assistive Technology Services
Conducting assistive technology assessment for students with special needs.
Providing assistive technology solutions based on assessment.
Training students with special needs on the use of assistive technology and following-up with them.
Providing assistive technology solutions for students in exams.
Digital Accessibility Services
Converting course materials and tests into a accessible format to be used on assistive technology solutions.
Coordinating with Qatar University website officials to ensure digital access to the content of the web pages.
Coordinating with the administrators of the University's official social media platforms to ensure digital access to shared.
Physical Accessibility Services
Ensuring physical accessibility to all campus buildings and facilities in coordination with the Facilities and General Services Department.
Coordinating with the Transportation Department to provide accessible buses for students with physical disability.
Coordinating with the Safety Department to ensure that evacuation procedures are appropriate for students with special needs.
