The Department of Human Nutrition was established in 1998, and offers a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Human Nutrition. The Department aims to graduate competent dietetics professionals with a strong foundation in biological sciences, applied nutrition sciences, research methodologies, and evidenced-based professional dietetic practice. The Department supports the development of professional competence and prepares graduates for careers in clinical and community dietetics, health and wellness, public health, and foodservice management. The current academic plan includes a supervised professional practice component, which was launched in 2010, and fully accredited by ACEND, the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2017.

Additionally, the Human Nutrition Department offers a Master of Science (MSc) in Human Nutrition. The program is designed for dietitians, nutritionists and health professionals who would like to advance their knowledge and skills in research, biochemical, clinical, community, and behavioral aspects of nutrition. The two year-program includes 24 credit hours of core courses, 6 credit hours of electives, and 6 credit hours of thesis. The core courses cover advanced topics in biochemical nutrition of macronutrients and micronutrients, statistical and research methods in nutrition, nutrition care management, cardio-metabolic diseases, nutritional epidemiology, and nutrigenomics.
