QTTSC is in the process of establishing a fully instrumented and automated Compact Impact Sled (CIS) system to test vehicle components such as safety belts, airbags, and child seats. The system will be equipped for many different standardized regulation tests used in Europe and America. The following test can be conducted with the CIS system: rear impact (whiplash, head/seat restraints), seat belts, roof rack test, child restraint systems, anchorages, aircraft seat test and securing of cargo. The facility also include high-speed cameras to capture real-time crash performance along with instrumented dummies. The laboratory will be a unique crash facility for many standardized tests and research purposes in the Gulf region.
