The Central Laboratories Unit (CLU) was established in 2004 as a merger of two labs: the chemical analysis lab and the electron microscopy lab, which were previously part of the chemistry and biology department, respectively. Today, the CLU is supervised by the VP for research and provides services to all scientific departments at Qatar University, as well as private and governmental agencies. The CLU offers a wide range of services, including chemical analysis, electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and thermal analysis. These services are available to researchers and students at Qatar University, as well as to external organizations. The CLU is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and facilities, and its staff includes highly qualified professionals with extensive experience in their respective fields. The CLU plays a vital role in supporting research and development activities in Qatar, and its services are essential for the advancement of science and technology in the region. CLU is the first option for the researchers for their sample processing and analysis.
In addition, CLU provides educational opportunities that enrich student experience and transferable skills that make the university graduates more competitive. This Center is also open for collaborations and accepting samples from government as well as Industry.
