In order to be eligible for the Master / PhD Scholarship, a candidate needs to:
- be a Qatari national
- be a Qatar University Teaching Assistant or Lecturer
- submit, to the Scholarships Office, a letter of unconditional acceptance from one of the universities recognized by the HEI List [see Universities page on this website]
- submit a College transcript with the GPA of at least 3.0 on a scale of 0.0 to 4.0
- for Masters students - BA transcript
- for PhD students - BA and Masters transcripts
- provide an original transcript of TOEFL or IELTS exam with the score of
- at least 500 [for study in Arabic] (if applicable) or
- at least 550 [for study in English] (if applicable)
- submit an approval letter from the QU College/Department
- complete and submit the personal information sheet [available on website or provided by the Scholarships Office]
- complete and submit a 'release of overseas information to QU' consent form
- submit a copy of the candidate's Qatar identity card
- submit a copy of the candidate's passport
- provide two passport photos
- provide a copy of parent/guardian identity card
- provide emergency contact information for both Qatar and overseas
- submit the Qatar University Scholarship contract signed by the candidate
Qatar University will provide to Qatari national scholarship recipients (Master /PhD):
- tuition and allowances as stated in the Scholarship Handbook
- financial support letter addressed to overseas university
- if required, a support letter to the Embassy of the overseas host university's country for visa processing
