Blackboard Learn is a course management system for online teaching, learning, community building, and knowledge sharing.

Blackboard Learn allows instructors to provide their students with Course materials, Announcements, PowerPoint, Captivate, Video, Audio, Animation, Assignments, Assessment Tool, Discussion Tool, and a dedicated academic resource.

Benefits & Features:

• Communication
  • Announcements: Professors and teachers may post announcements for students to read. These can be found under the announcement tab, or can be made to pop-up when a student accesses Blackboard.
  • Chat: This function allows those students who are online to chat in real time with other students in their class section.
  • Discussions: This feature allows students and professors to create a discussion thread and reply to ones already created.
  • Wikis: allow course members to contribute and modify one or more pages of course-related materials and provide a means of sharing and collaboration
  • Blog: is a personal online journal that is frequently updated and intended to share with others. Most blogs also have a commenting feature, so that people can respond to one another's thoughts.
  • Blackboard Collaborate: is a simple, convenient, and reliable online collaborative learning solution delivers a level of engagement that makes learners feel like they’re together in the same room via collaboration and conference tools.
  • Mail: Blackboard mail allows students and teachers to send mail to one another. This feature supports mass emailing to students in a course.
• Content
  • Course content: This feature allows teachers to post articles, assignments, videos etc.
  • Calendar: Teachers can use this function to post due dates for assignments and tests.
  • Learning modules: This feature is often used for strictly online classes. It allows professors to post different lessons for students to access.
  • Assessments: This tab allows teachers to post quizzes and exams and allows students to access them via the internet
  • Assignments: This features allows assignments to be posted and students to submit assignments online.
  • Grade Book: Teachers and professors may post grades on Blackboard for students to view.
  • Media Library: Videos and other media may be posted under this function.

Description:

Qatar University host a cutting edge Virtual Reality system allowing innovative teaching courses for the students and an amazing tool for researchers.

Virtual Reality will be used to support professors to help QU students understand specific topics related to several fields such as Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Maths, etc.

Multiple projects will soon be implemented within the VR section helping students to enhance their skills and fully express their creativity using this modern tool by producing impressive projects and presentations.

Our Virtual Reality section will assist Qatar students to acquire VR and 3d skills helping them to integrate more easily the work market making their profiles more attractive for local and international firms.

Net Op Vision Pro is a Classroom Management Software which helps QU faculties to teach with technology in an easier and more effective way. It provides onscreen demonstrations and teaching tools that ignite interest, focus attention and improve learning outcomes.

• Engage students with dynamic screen sharing demonstrations
• Supervise Student Computer user and monitor the progress and activities
• Showcase student work to the class
• Discretely assist students with remote control and chat tools
• Eliminate distractions by blanking screens, block/control web access, and block keyboard/mouse inputs or kiosk applications.
• Guide students to website related to lessons or exams and block out the rest

Description:

Lecture recording refers to the process of recording and archiving the content of a lecture, conference, or seminar. It consists of hardware and software components that work in synergy to record audio and visual components of the lecture.

Benefits & Features:

• Capture speeches, video, visualizer device and teaching/presentation materials for the running session
• Automatic Capture (A session recur more than one week) in a classroom that is equipped with Echo360 technology.
• On-time Capture (single event) in a classroom that is equipped with Echo360 technology.
• Personal capture software allows you to record desktop presentations from your own personal computer at any time or place.
• Integrated with Blackboard system.

Access Request:

Departments / Faculty and Staff can request lecture capture for one or more than one section, They should fill the Echo360 lecture capture request form and get approval from his department and send it to ITS helpdesk helpdesk@qu.edu.qa.

Classroom Technology services provide integrated system for Staff, faculty and students of Qatar University to enable interactive education. Technology integration is the use of technology resources such as computers, smart devices, digital cameras, social media platforms and networks, the Internet, etc. -- in daily classroom practices.

Enhance a variety of classrooms across campus with built-in audio\visual technologies and smart, friendly graphical user-interface, two laptops inputs, two audio inputs, document camera, HDMI & VGA interfaces, wire and wireless microphones, Lecture capture and video conferencing systems.

Classroom technology service are available for all University users. Additional services and access can be requested by submitting a request to ITS Helpdesk.
