Public Relations Departments in modern university environments assume an important and crucial role. They are the direct link between masses of university communities and its decision-makers. The Department of Communication and Public Relations stands as one of the most important and influential departments at Qatar University on both internal and external levels. This position emanates from its direct relationship with the University's administration, academics, administrators, and students, as well as from its extensive and close relations with public, private, voluntary institutions and other Qatar-based universities. In addition, it maintains close ties with regional and international universities, higher education institutions, and international university assessment agencies.
The role of the Department of Communication and Public Relations is to promote and maintain the reputation and identity of Qatar University; act as a link between its internal and external communities; ensure and enhance the institution’s capacity and efficiency required to achieve its vision, mission and strategy; highlight the University's academic and research activities and roles. To that end, the Department uses all media and advertising tools, in addition to its close cooperation with various local and international media.
