The restructured CETL will catalyze the systematic and holistic advancement of Qatar University's faculty, pedagogies, and educational materials. It will align with Qatar University’s 2018-2022 Strategy that calls for an “Education Excellence Framework,” which consists of the following excellence themes: learner centric, experiential, research informed, digitally enriched, competency based and entrepreneurial education.
The Center's fundamental aims are the articulation, application, assessment, and dissemination of excellence in teaching and learning in order to implement tangible and continuous improvement at Qatar University. The restructured CETL will focus on the refinement of:
- Faculty teaching practices
- Course design processes
- The productive use of educational tools and technologies
- Facilitation of blended and online learning
- The design and development of various educational media to facilitate and enhance each item listed above
