Welcome to the College of Pharmacy – QU Health at Qatar University (QU). This is an exciting time to reflect, revitalization and continue moving forward.
The core mission of the college is to enable the faculty and staff to do their work to provide a conducive environment to produce new knowledge and educate students as well as nurture them. Our highest priority is to prepare the next generation of competent, versatile, creative pharmacists to solve global health challenges while providing the training our students need to compete and excel in the workforce in local and global healthcare settings. That mission takes place in lecture halls, labs, faculty offices, departments, programs, and centers, and in conversations with others.
There is an ecosystem that is needed for that mission to thrive. It is a primary job of a dean to help to ensure that ecosystem by getting quality individuals into the college family and supporting a healthy and productive workplace, research and teaching environment. Our Faculty has a strong commitment to research. We take great pride in the quality and impact of our research. Through our multiple partnerships, we extend our collaborations and deepen our connectedness locally, regionally and globally. Moreover, my intention is to ensure that the college continues to become an essential and successful QU Health and QU entity.
Since its establishment, the college has achieved various achievements, among others are the CCAPP accreditation, expansion of the graduate programs, crafting of its name on the world map, and university world ranking. All indicators of success are on the rise – undergraduate enrollment and achievements, graduate education and research, faculty success in garnering sponsored research, and national recognition through awards to our students and faculty. We are invigorating and building upon the College's strategic plan, ensuring that it remains on its path through good governance. We need to focus more on sustainable development goal and the societal impact of our research.
As I serve, I am looking to cultivate and deepen relationships, empower leadership, and build upon the cultural fabric of our college, where everyone feels a sense of purpose in our work and a sense of belonging in our interactions. We need to continue to work as a team!
At CPH, Where Quality Meets Expertise
